So the last entry was like "yeah whatever: Germany" and "been there!", right? Well shame on you but also check this out: THE PIRATE IS IN INDIA!! The wife/manager of bandleader Lucas van Merwijk, she goes by the name of Roosje, kindly offered to take care of the Pirate for a while. At least that's what Rob tells us. I think there was probably a bit more whining and pretty pleeease? and ultimately (attempts at) intimidation followed by illegal stowaway action involved. However he did it, he did it: here is a picture of the Dread Pirate Gavroche in India.

The Pirate has slept off his Queenly hangover by now. He was restlessly rummaging around in my bag. I fished him out and said "What is wrong Pirate? Why so restless?" He sighed.
"Oh," he said, scratching his beard, "it's nothing."
"Oh okay," I said and began putting him back in my bag.
"No wait!" he said, urgently. "I am restless because I need a new adventure! Something worthwile. Something to sink my teeth into!"
"Right." I sighed too. "I am sorry Pirate," I told him, "I am not going on faraway travels or anything I can take you along for some time. We can go to Greece in a few weeks but that is about it."
He patted my arm. "That's okay," he said "you have the Little Crew to take care of. I understand." I looked at him with surprise. "What?" he asked "I can be understanding you know!"
I had to admit I didn't see that coming. So he sulked for a bit and then we talked about what we could do for a bit of fun. We made a list. Then we decided to strike out and also take request from our appreciative audience.

Today the Dread Pirate Gavroche went treasure hunting. He found himself a treasure map with coordinates (the modern-day version of "X marks the spot") on this site and off he went with his crew! The two ~~henchmen~~ henchwenches that are the latest addition to his crew had already unsuccessfully tried to capture this treasure last week but the Pirate simply laughed at them and did a silly dance to mock them. Then he went forth and found the damn thing!

The treasure trove was filled with music cd's and other goodies. The Pirate looted a Foo Fighters cd and then the little minions snuck in a children's cd in its place. The Pirate was also able to drag away two trackable coins. The minions were not quick enough to replace those so the Pirate came out ahead of the game. Hah!

Three of the Pirate's business cards were left in the box for others to find. So they may admire his adventures on this site and make up songs about his heroic deeds! Or something like that anyway. (Spread the word!)

His companion said this was a free book which to the Pirate's mind was very appropriate; to him books are worthless things anyway. You can't really loot and pillage them, can you? So he had no scruples at all setting this book free on Bookcrossing.

The Pirate looked around him carefully and sniffed some locals and eventually decided against an invasion. Yes, the Dread Pirate is quite the traveller. This time he decided to explore an area so far unknown to him (because far from the sea): Hungary. He flew (no sailing) to Budapest for a quick scout of the area. First stop: Hotel Budapest, former communist hotel of the city. It showed, somehow. The interior decorators, um, liked brown.
