Saying goodbye to a local hero

After innovating connections and creating enough havoc to be remembered, it was time to say goodbye to the local hero. She will be in my dreams for sure, this mermaide...

Handy

...while mama feeds no. 2. :-)

Helping hand

Pirate entertains no. 1...

Feeding time!

That's why! :-)

So why the hurry to get home?

No snails today?

Rats! Maybe later.

Homeward?

Yes let's go!

Pssst...

Do we really need all this?
Yes Pirate we do.

Groceries...

Yes those are nappies (diapers). Sigh.

On the road

Yes we are on the move again. TheDread Pirate tried to convince Esmée to use the Steed of Steel but she preferred her usual carriage.

Oh thank Gods!

The Pirate found his crew again! His adventures are too numerous to recount here but suffice to say they involved anything from dread sea monsters and raging wenches to Latin verb conjugations and (*shudder*) libraries. It was horrible! Or so the Pirate tells us. Anyway, all's well that ends well and everyone is home safe and sound.

Boooooriiiing!!!!

Both of them!

Helloooo?? Anyone there???
No Pirate, they're really not here. Distressing isn't it?
Yes, let's go find them!

Missing!

This morning, much to his dismay, the Pirate found that his crew was missing. They couldn't be found in their usual hammocks. Where the h...?

Oh wait...

I guess she IS impressed.

I order you to stop crying!

Now!

(It didn't work.)

Another crew member?

Walking along in Amsterdam West the Dread Pirate spotted this daunting photograph in the window of Brandeis Decohome (http://www.brandeis.nl/) and was immediately smitten. That smile! That attitude! That hair! He knew he had to recruit her for his adventures. Now only to find her and meet her in person... One day, me hearties, one day!

That way!

Now that he has a crew, if not an actual boat, the Dread Pirate
considers himself entitled to captaincy. Captain Gavroche leads the way!

The pirate is BACK!

Not only that, he has found two (2!) crewmembers for his mayhem. Meet The Twins. Don't they make you *shudder* with fear?

On the way home

And so he decided to return to his temporary base camp in Amsterdam. Along the way he got rid of one of those things so strange to him: a book. His companion said this was a free book which to the Pirate's mind was very appropriate; to him books are worthless things anyway. You can't really loot and pillage them, can you? So he had no scruples at all setting this book free on Bookcrossing.

Garlick and peppers

There seems to be a lot of this sort of thing in the national diet. And pork. Loads of pork.

The Pirate looked around him carefully and sniffed some locals and eventually decided against an invasion. He said it was because he felt the Hungarians had suffered enough wars and occupation already. It could also be that a lifetime of pork was just not what he had in mind. I guess we'll never know.

Big, round, juicy...

... cabbages! What better way to accompany a salami sausage?

Salami eh?

Okay... can do. There seems to be a LOT of this stuff around. A LOT!

Ahahaaa! The market place

The perfect place to find out more about this people that the Pirate is going to subdue. Gotta learn something about the locals, right?
Before plundering them, you mean?
Ah shut up!
Yessir! Shutting up right now sir!
Right.

On the prowl

Wondering what's inside this big hall. Only one way to find out...

Finally the town was hit

First stop: coffee. *sigh*

Enough with the brown already!

Gavroche wanted to explore the town! Meet the people! Find out their likes and weakn... I mean dislikes!

Alas. His travel companion spent most of her days inside. Meetings...

BUDAPEST!

Yes, the Dread Pirate is quite the traveller. This time he decided to explore an area so far unknown to him (because far from the sea): Hungary. He flew (no sailing) to Budapest for a quick scout of the area. First stop: Hotel Budapest, former communist hotel of the city. It showed, somehow. The interior decorators, um, liked brown.
